I built a faithful recreation of a Fairchild 670 tube compressor using Sowter transformers and new old stock 6386 vari-mu vacuum tubes. I can be a skeptic when it comes to expensive or esoteric equipment. We don’t need unobtainable tools to make great work. That said, there is something very magical about hearing music through this machine.
